Get the App!! Scale Back has an app, and it is chocked full of neat stuff to help you lose!
New Horizons Wellness Center will be serving as a weigh-in site for the state’s largest weight-loss and exercise program, Scale Back Alabama. In its 11th year, the program has resulted in millions of pounds lost and lots of healthy habits formed, and the 2017 contest starts next week.
Adults in teams of two can go online at www.scalebackalabama.com to register for the free, 8-week program and then go to (name of organization) to weigh in at the following times (insert days and times). All participants must be 18 years of age and older, live or work in Alabama and must weigh in at an official site to be eligible to participate. Those who lose at least 10 pounds will be included in the cash prize drawings on April 5.
Scale Back Alabama is a collaboration of the Alabama Hospital Association, the Alabama Department of Public Health and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.

November is Diabetes Awareness Month.
Many diabetics are not diagnosed or are not well controlled.
Do you have a family history of diabetes? Schedule an appointment for lab work today to make sure you do not have it as well!
Do you have diabetes? You need to make sure you follow up with your doctor regularly--at least every six months. Keep a blood sugar log, monitor your carbohydrate intake, and keep a food diary.
